How does an air source heat pump work?
Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside air which is then used to heat your home. It doesn’t need to be a warm summer’s day for air source heat pumps to work either, as they can extract heat when the air temperature is as low as -15°C. So the UK climate won’t be a problem.
Switching to this renewable energy source could reduce your household emissions, as well as your monthly bills. And unlike a ground source heat pump which requires digging into your garden, an air source heat pump can be fitted to an outside wall or placed on the ground, making it a good option if you have a smaller outside space.
